Editions One

The name is no accident. We start with one book, one reader, one author, one inspiration. We do not begin with the mass market -- screaming jackets at airport newstands. We begin, rather, with sensitivity and stillness -- the sorts of conditions that must have given rise to books in the first place. We offer beautifully produced editions of photographs and words: images which we feel point beyond their own subject matter to evoke the mystery hiding behind the commonplace. Amid the clatter and scatter of our lives, Editions One hopes to nudge the reader, if even for a moment, toward that internal stillness, that sense of a precious something.

Editions One is concerned with universal values. We feel that fine art, to be worthy of the name, deals with beauty and permanency. Fine-art photography celebrates the vision of the universal through the particular. Such a vision is expressed in well-seen and beautifully crafted prints, and in photographic books of the highest quality. Works of this order bear witness to the beauty inherent in all of nature. Thus they document our own spiritual essence.
